A few things have come up for me lately during my yoga practice. I’m not sure if I’m just more aware because of the yoga teach training I’ve begun, or if it’s influenced by my growth and mindset in general, regardless I’m grateful and wanted to share.
I speak often about how what we learn on our mat is so powerful and we’re able to take those bits and apply them to our everyday. The theme that’s been more vocal for me recently is “let it go.” I hear this so often during practice. Phrases like “give something up here” and “let that tension go, if it comes back notice it and let it go again.”
These are gifts and reminders that this is all a process. We have to let go every single day, maybe multiple times a day. Even when we think we’ve let it go it could emerge again. If this happens, what do you do? Breathe. Send breath to where you need it most and let it go again. When you’re in an uncomfortable yoga pose….you breathe. You visualize the breath traveling to the place you need it and relaxation and comfort arrive there. The tension fades and before you know it you’re moving onto the next pose.
So with that I remind you all that what is true during a yoga practice is true in life. This is only temporary. Keep breathing and releasing. If you fall out, come right back. It is a practice.
